I rather give and receive gifts like the Dallas Zoo family membership $79 for a family membership for one year. It encourages a family to be healthy and Walk around the zoo to see all the animals, museums probably have something like this also. Buy one for each family and have family get togethers once a month at the zoo. Just a thought

I only buy christmas presents for my children sometimes their friends if I know their mom is having a hard time. But this year we are having a christmas that we are giving away the toys we don't play with to the homeless shelter along with clothes that we never wear and several comforters (tired of a different comforter every night being dragged out my the kids.

I like the idea of 2 to 4 five dollar presents and one twenty to fifty dollar present per a kid. I have 3 children ages 5, 3, and 1. I am 23 with 20% down on my house, and my 3 vehicles paid off. I love my children but found things like trips to the zoo, park, chuckie cheese more rewarding and less clutter than buying them gifts. Make memories not debt.

Okay, I find this totally refreshing. Especially #16 and #10. I don't know what to do with all these plates of cookies that flow through our doorway at Christmas anyway. And #10, well, I may need some help extricating myself from that "tradition." In years past I've tipped our mail carrier (I do adore her though) and our housecleaner. Geez, it does add up. Now this is my first xmas with my current cleaner, so maybe I can give her something besides $$.
